Absolutely love training with Cate. For a touch of context, I've been a runner for the better part of my life and have no problem running 40 miles a week all by myself. It doesn't matter the weather or my mood, running for me is very much a part of who I am - it's a habit that comes fairly easy at this point. Working out and strength training, however, is not something I've ever enjoyed - I'd rather go for a run. However, as my fitness goals have continued to become more ambitious; run with more ease, fewer injuries, add some bulk, become more toned ... I've come to realize that in order to achieve these things I would need both accountability and an expert who could understand my goals and own the entire process of helping me achieve them. I just don't want to put a lot of thought into these things since I’m not passionate about strength training - I didn't want to have to think about how I would get there. That's where Cate comes into play. She is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of fitness and nutrition. She looks the part, which I think is important for a fitness coach. She makes my life easier because as I told her on day one, I just wanted to show up and do whatever she said and not have to think about my progress or what I would need to do to achieve my fitness goals. I told her I would just do whatever she tells me to do, which makes for a great partnership. As a much-added bonus, I've gotten to know her extremely well. We share a lot of our personal lives, ideas, beliefs ... and in many ways are thinking partners in a free-flowing kind of way. I've never been the type of person who really enjoys strength training, although I love the end results. With that said, I do really enjoy training with Cate. She is the first trainer I have ever hired and I can see and feel the results of our training, both in my running and in my bathroom mirror :) With Cate, she has set the bar of being a great trainer extremely high, and I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to improve their overall level of fitness. Plus, you get a friend through the process.
